Shopping Cart Abandonment Surveys

Shopping cart abandonment is one of the major areas where websites are losing revenue, but the reasons can be hard to diagnose.  Tracking sales funnels through a cart transaction are essential to start gaining an understanding of where users are leaving the checkout process.

The harder part is making sense of WHY people are abandoning their purchase at a certain point.  One tool that is available is the software for shopping cart abandonment surveys from Vovici's offerings of online surveys.

These surveys have tons of features that help you to diagnose where and why users are abandoning their purchases.  Vovici offers what they call hot-spot technology which shows heat map click tracking,  and also allows you to

"pass hidden fields through to the survey, allowing you to gather more detailed information about each shopping cart abandonment incident -- without relying on the respondent to fill out the correct information in the survey."

Many large companies like Petco and Wal-Mart are using these surveys to increase their web site conversions, and Vovici offers solutions for businesses of all sizes.  Check them out if you are truly serious about getting the most conversions out of your site and making it the most user friendly that it can be!

I haven't seen anything like this before. I know I leave sites a lot with stuff still in a shopping cart w/o purchasing.

If you're running a serious e-commerce business I think this could significantly improve conversions and thus efficiency. Looks like a very smart stats tool.
