Free Google Adwords Campaign Optimization by Google Specialists
Google just announced on their blog that they are offering free Adwords campaign optimizations. This is the second time this has been announced by Google.
Google probably will not fly their Adwords specialists out to meet you to optimize your campaign, but for many marketers it is a great opportunity to improve on their Adword account performance. Be aware though, that as I have experienced personally, the tweaks that they make to your campaign may not perform any better than your account performs prior to the campaign optimization. So make sure to monitor the campaign success after the transition. Reverting to the pre-optimization structure is easy, so don't let a fear of decreased performance stop you from getting this free optimization from the guys at Google.
To request a complementary optimization for your Google Adwords campaign check out this request form.
We also offer professional PPC management at Franklin Spirko, so give me a shout if you want to hear more about our experience and knowledge with managing PPC campaigns.

If only I had an adwords campaign to optimize! I'm not making any money off of my blog, so what would be the point?

The "free optimization" could be helpful, but it could really screw up your account, doing things to it that takes forever and a day to get back to the way it was.
So, before requesting that they look at the account, I would download all the data using Google's Editor...in case you have to re-upload it later if it's screwed up.
I would also note that once you have your account set up in Google the way you want, the Yahoo! Search Marketing folks may be willing to import all of your campaigns into Yahoo! Search Marketing.

How did you feel about that?
I presume you made the request to improve your ads and click-thru's, but, given these results, would you go through all that trouble again?
Or were there also positive results?
Just wondering.

@Bill - I totally agree that these aren't always the best optimizations.
@Case - It doesn't hurt to maybe have them give it a shot at optimizing your campaign. They will usually find some good keywords for you. However, I would do as Bill suggested and back up your campaign in case their account optimization doesn't perform well.
